Paddle Kitsap
August 1st will kick off a 2-day paddle with participants making the trek from Port Gamble to Poulsbo through North Kitsap’s “String of Pearls”. This is an event for all ages. For more information call 360-697-6095 or www.paddlekitsap.com.

 

City of Poulsbo Centennial Street Dance ~ A Dance of the Decades

Historic Downtown Poulsbo - Front Street

August 16th, 2008 from 6-11pm

 

Join us in continuing our year long Centennial Celebration by coming out and to strut, sway and swing during this charged evening event! We've got live local music, a beer garden and lots more in the works!

Chief Seattle Days Suquamish

Suquamish Indian Tribe

August 16th, 17th, 18th

"A northwest Indian Festival", In honor of Chief Seattle.  Among the festivities is a

Salmon bake, Indian Art, Canoe races, Pow-Wow, Traditional Indian dancing! 

A special memorial service to Chief Seattle. Don't miss the Princess Contest,

Teen Dance and the multitude of events!  No Admission Charge.

Friday: Miss Chief Seattle Days Pageant, canoes arrive, teen dance, vendor booths, FIREWORKS display at dusk.

Saturday: Memorial at Chief Seattle grave site, parade, vendor booths, canoe races, dance demonstrations by dancers from many tribes, Pow Wow competitions, salmon bake, FIREWORKS display at dusk.

Sunday: Fun Run, vendor booths, canoe races, Pow Wow continues, salmon bake.
 

 

Poulsbo Arts Festival

Enjoy a leisurely stroll through our Waterfront Park at this juried Arts and

Crafts show!  Browse the many booths offering quality, unique handcrafted

items. Chat with artists and view their artwork.  Original music & lyrics fill the air! 

Delicious, tasty food will keep you munching treats throughout the day! 

A children's Art Activity Section provides hands-on entertainment for the kids.

Quicksilver Hydroplane Races

August 15th- 17th  Silverdale

 

The thrill of high-speed, rooster-tail flying, thundering hydroplanes returns to Dyes Inlet in Silverdale this summer with the newest addition to the Unlimited Light Hydroplane Race (ULHRA) schedule.

The weekend is certain to have something for everyone with aquatic and outdoor sports vendors, static displays, a beer garden featuring local award-winning micro-brews, pit tours, and of course two full days of racing.

Enjoy races set against the backdrop of Mount Rainier to the east and the Olympic Mountains to the west, in Silverdale.

Kitsap County Fair and Rodeo

August 20th -24th

One of the areas most popular events, held at Kitsap County Fairgrounds, the fair offers just about everything one would expect. Along with usual arts and crafts displays, fairgoers can experience a rodeo, a carnival and herds of 4-H Club animals with their young handlers. Top professional cowboys can be seen at the PRCA rodeo where they add to the thrills by their abilities in the arts of bareback bronc riding, steer wrestling and roping, and barrel racing.
